Privacy Policy
How we handle your information — in plain language, with no surprises.
Last updated July 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Alexander Cooke for Florida U.S. District 21 (the “Campaign,” “we,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects information you provide through alexcookeforcongress.com and our text message and email programs.
Information we collect
We collect only what you choose to give us. That typically means:
- Contact information — your email address, and your mobile phone number if you provide it.
- Location information — your ZIP code, so we can tell you about events and issues near you.
- Your interests — the issues you tell us matter most to you.
- Consent records — whether you opted in to text messages, and when.
- Basic technical information — standard web server and analytics data such as browser type and pages visited.
Contributions to the Campaign are processed by a third-party payment provider, not on this website. Federal law requires the Campaign to collect and publicly report certain information about contributors, including name, address, occupation, and employer. We do not store your full payment card details.
How we use your information
- To send you campaign updates, event information, and volunteer opportunities.
- To ask you to support the Campaign, including requests for contributions.
- To respond to questions, messages, and press inquiries.
- To comply with federal election law and reporting obligations.
Text messages
If you provide your mobile number and check the consent box, you agree to receive text messages from the Campaign. Messages may include campaign updates, event information, volunteer opportunities, and requests for donation. Message and data rates may apply and message frequency may vary.
You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of volunteering for, or contributing to, the Campaign — the phone number field on our forms is entirely optional.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. With respect to text messaging specifically: We will not share text messaging originator opt-in data and consent, provided that the foregoing does not apply to sharing (1) with vendors, consultants and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf (and who will not use such information for their own purposes); (2) if we believe disclosure is required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation or to comply with law enforcement or legal process; and (3) if the user consents to our sharing of such information.
The same standard governs the rest of the information you give us. We share it with the vendors who run our email, texting, and event tools on our behalf, and where the law requires it — and otherwise we keep it within the Campaign.
Your choices
- Email — every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
- Text messages — reply STOP to any message to opt out.
- Access and deletion — email us and we will remove your information from our lists.
Data security
We use reputable service providers and take reasonable measures to protect the information you give us. No website or electronic transmission is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
